OUR STORY

We met through our husbands while living in Texas, but quickly became friends as we pursued our Master’s in Music degrees. We both had similar interests, having backgrounds in early childhood education and even teaching music lessons together while in school. After school we both went our separate ways and began teaching privately but both found ourselves moving around frequently.

We started talking about how many other families were moving frequently for jobs or simply struggling to juggle work, kids’ after school activities and baby nap schedules simultaneously. These families could really benefit from a teacher-come-to-you music lessons option without the price tag (or stress…hello messy home of toddlers).

Ms Megan has been teaching piano, voice and early childhood classes for the past 20 years. She graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a major in Early Childhood Development and a minor in Spanish and jumped right into teaching a Bilingual Kindergarten class. While she loved classroom teaching, she realized how much she missed having music as an integral part of her working career. She went back to school to get a Masters in Music Composition with a Concentration in Vocal Performance.

“I love getting to use all of my skills to give young children a solid foundation to build upon. I see so many great resources for older students, but those early developmental years can be such a dynamite teaching window if you can channel a child’s curious energy. My years of study, teaching and being a mom have shown me first hand the extraordinary benefits that both music and 2nd language education provide for kids. I’m passionate about making age-appropriate resources available to other parents and teachers so they can enhance their own children’s lives.”

Ms Lani studied Early Childhood Psychology with an emphasis in Counseling in Venezuela before moving to the United States to get her Masters in Flute and Vocal performance. She has been teaching classes and private lessons for over 14 years. She started her own musical journey in Kindermusik classes when she was just 5 years old, and she knows first hand how beneficial starting at an early age is. She is a passionate musician who continues to take flute lessons online and participate in Flute Masterclasses to keep up with her love of music professionally. All of her studies continue to make a perfect harmony of easy and fun music learning for young learners.

“Teaching is never boring, especially with little kids. I love how you never fully know what can happen in a lesson. I love meeting kids where they are at, guiding them to discovering the fun in learning and achieving new things.”

Ms. Claire is a board-certified music therapist and piano teacher living in Leesburg, VA. She has been teaching piano to children for 14 years and recently became a certified Music Together teacher, expanding her expertise to work with young children from birth to age 6. Claire founded her own business, Comfort Codas, in 2025, which allows her the flexibility to stay home with her infant daughter while continuing her music therapy and teaching work.

With well over a decade of experience working with people of all ages, Claire brings a unique therapeutic approach to music education. Her background in music therapy gives her special insight into how music can provide comfort, joy, and developmental benefits for her students.

"I'm passionate about person-centered music instruction, and my number 1 goal is ensuring that every individual thoroughly enjoys music in their own way. I love helping children discover their musical potential while receiving the comfort, care and love they deserve through music."

In her spare time, Claire enjoys volunteering at her son's elementary school, attending his baseball games (she loves being a baseball mom!), and spending time with her husband, their three kids, and their many pets.

WHY WE TEACH ONLINE

What started as a way to maintain continuity despite frequent moves quickly transformed into a realization of the incredible potential virtual music education holds. From the comfort of our own homes, we're able to cultivate rich musical communities with students near and far in highly personalized ways, no longer bound by physical spaces. Our families' personal experiences inspired this innovative new approach that we've wholeheartedly embraced.
