Join us for an exciting musical journey where Minecraft meets piano! This beginner-friendly club introduces young musicians to foundational piano skills through the beloved world of Minecraft. Perfect for children who have little to no piano experience and want to discover if piano lessons are right for them.
 
What Your Child Will Learn
 
Piano Basics: Quickly identify white keys (A-G) and proper hand positioning
Technique: Play the A minor & C major pentascale with all five fingers using proper technique and metronome practice
Chords: Master the A minor & C major chord
Rhythm: Read and play quarter notes, half notes, dotted half notes, whole notes, and rests
Time Signatures: Understand 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4 time and what they mean
Music Reading: Introduction to the Grand Staff, Treble Clef, Bass Clef, and finding Middle C
Articulation: Learn legato (smooth) and staccato (detached) playing styles
Dynamics: Learn to play piano (soft) and forte (loud) 
Creativity: Improvise Minecraft-style music using the A minor pentascale
Repertoire: Learn "Steve's Lava Chicken Song" & "Peaches"

About Your Instructors
Ms Megan is classically trained with over 20 years of piano teaching experience, working with students from preschoolers to adults. With a background in composition and graduate-level music theory, she specializes in combining aural skills, creative composition, and music literacy to help students become both music lovers and strong piano players. Having initially learned by ear herself, she understands different learning styles and pathways to musical success.
 
Ms. Claire is a board-certified music therapist with 14 years of piano teaching experience, working with students from infants to seniors. With specialized training in Music Together and a therapeutic approach to music education, she combines developmental techniques, comfort-based learning, and person-centered instruction to help students discover their musical potential. Having founded Comfort Codas to blend music therapy with piano education, she understands how to adapt to each student's unique needs and create a nurturing environment where musical growth flourishes.
 
At-Home Keyboard Required Students will need access to a keyboard or piano at home for practice between weekly club meetings. This home practice is essential for reinforcing concepts learned during club sessions and ensuring steady progress throughout the 10-week program.
